Our Mission
At QuestFans, our mission is simple:
To celebrate, preserve, and expand the world of HeroQuest through fan-driven content, community engagement, and support for newcomers and veterans alike.
We aim to provide a welcoming space for players around the world to share their love for the game, showcase custom quests, develop new rules and expansions, and collaborate on the continued evolution of this beloved classic.
Who We Are
We’re fans, first and foremost. QuestFans was founded by a small group of long-time HeroQuest enthusiasts who grew up battling through the game’s iconic dungeons and never quite put their dice down. Over the years, our ranks have grown to include game designers, artists, writers, hobby painters, 3D modelers, and devoted players from every corner of the globe.
Some of us play the original 1989 Milton Bradley version. Others are fans of the newer Avalon Hill reprint. And many of us mix elements from all eras of the game — or invent entirely new mechanics, enemies, and stories. What unites us is a shared belief that HeroQuest is more than just a game. It’s a platform for imagination.

Why We Love HeroQuest
There’s something magical about HeroQuest. It’s a game that bridged the gap between board gaming and roleplaying for an entire generation. Simple enough to play as kids, but evocative enough to inspire complex narratives and creativity as adults.
The modular board, the miniatures, the GM-as-Zargon role — it all gave us the tools to build our own stories, whether we were slaying the Witch Lord or rescuing nobles from the dungeons of Kellar’s Keep. HeroQuest has always encouraged imagination, collaboration, and a bit of mischief — and that’s what keeps us coming back.
Community-Driven, Always
QuestFans is unofficial, unaffiliated, and entirely community-run. We are not endorsed by Hasbro, Avalon Hill, Games Workshop, or any rights holders — and we operate purely as a fan project. Everything we do is for the love of the game and the people who play it.
We believe in giving back. That’s why everything on QuestFans is freely available to download, use, and modify for personal use. If you’ve created something you'd like to share — whether it’s a map, a rule set, a new monster type, or just a cool idea — we’d love to showcase it.
